Just as little as two years ago there were thousands of mortgages on offer. The market was so confusing and mortgage brokers were in demand. Mortgage lenders were offering fantastic deals and many property investors were attracted by the dream of wealth creation and financial independence. One year ago was so different. Mortgage lenders tightened the criteria to buy-to-let investors, rates were pulled seemingly by the hour and property clubs headed rapidly to financial ruin. Interest rates crept up and up, slowly squeezing the cash flow for investors. Life was getting difficult. Can someone now please tell me – is Christmas coming early this year? (more…)

Just writing your receipts and expenses in a simple cash book will provide the basic record-keeping needed for your business. Bookkeepers and accountants will always recommend that you open a separate bank account for your business. Doing this is not necessary but trust me this simple step will save you so much time.
